City Watch, Inc. is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, volunteer operated & membership supported educational organization established in 1989. It's mission includes local government education with a focus on fiscal issues affecting the Salinas & Monterey areas.

 Here’s a book you’re not likely to find in a government-run library, but you can view online for free: California Piglet1.
This 23 page book is loaded with examples of nearly $13 billion in wasteful state and local government spending. You’ll laugh at the stupid things that public officials are doing, but you’ll cry when you realize that it’s your money they’re spending, often for a self-serving cause.
Although it’s dated 2004, it’s current until the next issue at the end of this year.
If you’re a student of government or just curious, this book is for you and you can’t beat the price!
The California Piglet is jointly published by Citizens Against Government Waste and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Foundation. Both organizations and City Watch share a similar mission.
